First Ever Doula Blog Post

Hello World!

This is my first post as a doula. I'm still working at becoming certified through Dona and I can't tell you how excited I am!

I plan to post the new information that I learn about birth and women's health. I also hope to share birth stories (with permission from the family, of course) and my own thoughts and feelings on being a doula. I encourage you to share your own stories with me. I would love to hear your thoughts.

This first post is a little scattered. New beginnings can be a bit overwhelming. I promise that future posts will be more focused.

I thought that my journey to becoming a doula began only a few months ago but the more that I travel down this path the more I realize that there have been many stepping stones leading to this journey. I take a lot of pride in my ability to comfort and soothe others. I find that I am often the person that people turn to when they need to be reassured. I enjoy being that person in their day or their life. I enjoy telling people how wonderful, beautiful, powerful they are. I look forward to doing it more freely and more often.

I have posted to my website Little, Bird Birth Services, the story of what first inspired me to become a doula. I encourage you to read my story. I am currently looking for opportunities to attend births and become certified, if you or someone you know needs a doula please contact me.

light and peace,
peggy
